More Best of Oxfords Gardens

My wanderings have taken me a bit further afield this time to the North of the city around the Norham Gardens area. I went for a photo walk with my friend and fellow photographer Clive Jones who is more familiar with this area than me.We came across a Victorian building that looked like it was about to undergo some restoration all was a bit quite so we checked it out.I had the feeling that the place may have been designed by William Wilkinson,i later found out that was true as he designed 1,5 7.and 13 of these wonderful Victorian Gothic Villas.Other photos came from around the Cowley area, Cornwallis Road and Florence Park. I'll be hopefully getting back to Norham Gardens at some point to get some more photos of this wonderful building


Norham Gardens

Norham Gardens was developed from 1860 onwards as part of the Norham Manor housing estate. Most of its houses are large Victorian Gothic villas. Nos. 1, 5, 7, 11 and 13 were designed by the architect William Wilkinson and nos. 3 and 9 are by Charles Buckeridge. There was a box in the garden which read "Toilet to Go" which was the brand name.
